- Any issues with the app should be reported to us, not to Valve
5. Dota 2 Trademark
Dota 2 is a registered trademark of Valve Corporation. All game-related trademarks, logos, and images are the property of Valve Corporation.
We use "Dota 2" in the name of this tool solely to describe its purpose and functionality. This use is considered fair use for descriptive purposes.
6. Your Responsibilities
When using DotaSense, you agree to:
- Use it legally: Don't use the app to violate any laws or regulations
- Follow Valve's ToS: Make sure your use of the app complies with Valve's Terms of Service and Steam Subscriber Agreement
- Don't tamper or repurpose: Don't modify, decompile, or use the app to create cheats, unfair advantages, or unauthorized derivative works
- Respect copyright: Don't copy, repackage, share, distribute, or sublicense the app without written authorization
- Tournament rules: Check with tournament organizers before using the app in competitive events
7. Pro Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation
DotaSense Pro Monthly and Pro Annual are optional paid subscriptions that unlock Pro features. The core timer remains available without a paid subscription.
- Billing: Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers.
- Renewal: Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
- Access: A valid Pro license may be required to activate or continue using Pro features.
- Cancellation: You can cancel or manage billing through the Stripe billing portal or by contacting support.
- After Cancellation: When you cancel, Pro access generally continues until the end of the current paid billing period.
- Refunds: Payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly approved by us.
- Price Changes: We may change prices, taxes, or plan features prospectively. We will not change the current billing period you already paid for.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the creators and contributors of DotaSense shall not be held liable for:
- Any damages arising from use or inability to use the software
- Any technical issues, bugs, or errors in the software
- Any actions taken by Valve or other third parties
- Lost games, lost MMR, or any in-game consequences
- Any modifications made to the software by third parties
In simple terms: use the app at your own risk. We're not responsible if something goes wrong, but we'll do our best to help fix any issues!
9. Safety and Valve ToS Compliance
This timer is designed to be completely safe and Valve ToS compliant:
- It doesn't interact with Dota 2 game files
- It doesn't modify game memory
- It doesn't provide automated gameplay
- It's a passive timing tool (like a stopwatch)
- It only displays publicly available game timing information
However, we cannot guarantee that Valve will never change their policies. Always stay informed about Valve's Terms of Service.
10. Data and Privacy
We respect your privacy:
- Core timer use does not require an account, name, email address, Steam password, or Dota 2 credentials
- Core timer settings are stored locally on your device
- The website uses privacy-friendly analytics, and desktop analytics or diagnostics can be controlled in app settings where available
- Optional Pro, payment, subscription, account, collaboration, or support features may process limited service data through our backend, Stripe, Supabase, or hosting providers
- We do not sell personal data or use advertising networks in the app
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do:
- We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top
- Major changes will be announced on the homepage
- Continued use of the app means you accept the new terms
